Why Join Us?

Are you a smallholder or have an interest in any aspect of smallholding? The Glamorgan Smallholders’ Association was established to provide members throughout Vale of Glamorgan, Bridgend, Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Cardiff, Caerphilly, Rhondda Cynon Taff and Merthyr Tydfil, with support and advice in all aspects of running a smallholding.

 

Our members have a wealth of knowledge and experience in all aspects of smallholding which they are only too willing to share.

We hold regular meetings around the Vale of Glamorgan area which are led by Glam Smalls members or invited speakers. We also arrange visits to members’ holdings and local producers and businesses. In the summer we attend a number of shows where members can attend to showcase their products/businesses. We also host socials and outdoor activities allowing members to gain experience in activities such as fencing, animal husbandry, turning produce into products, marketing your products and lots more.

• Talks and demonstrations on a variety of subjects

• Visits to farming focused establishments and businesses

• Social Media for Smallholders

• Various farm walks and talks

• Social events including BBQs, Skittles, & Quiz Nights

If you would like us to arrange a talk or demonstration on a specific subject, or you would like to present a talk or put on an event for members, drop us an e-mail, we will be happy to hear from you.

 

The GSA also holds some essential equipment that can be loaned to members for a discounted fee such as hurdles, pig arks, chicken houses, kindly donated by founder member Helen Joy.

 

We also can provide a heavily discounted egg count for the majority of farm animals at £5 per test

Membership starts from as little as £12 per year for an individual. We have more membership packages available for family, business and juniors on our membership page.
